Ready to Make Money as a Copywriter?
Copywriting has been around as long as anyone you know can remember. But copywriting is no longer simply a catch-all phrase for clever advertising phrases. Given the Internet, organic search, keywords, page rank, algorithms…copywriting in 2010 is so much more. Today, writers who know how to create fresh content over and over, while using the latest basis SEO strategies as enhancement, will never find themselves out of work. The economy may stink, but the Internet continues to boom.
If you’re considering working as a copywriter, or are just beginning to get paid for your work, there is no better time than right now to make your move to full-time copywriting. The sooner you do it, the more quickly you’ll begin to develop a portfolio of projects, a group of loyal clients, and a great reputation for solid, reliable work. And the sooner you do these things, the more money you can command for the work you do.
Look at it this way: As our economy continues to morph, more and more people turn to the ‘net as a way to make money. Nothing gets done on the Internet without words. All those words have to come from somewhere. Savvy Internet marketers know those words can’t be about just anything…and that means they will come looking for you…the sharp, clever, experienced and knowledgeable copywriter who knows how to write compelling, engaging words that drive traffic and, ultimately, make money for the client.
As an expert copywriter, will enjoy working from home, with flexible hours, no overhead, and making good money for writing content that helps your clients reach their goals.
What could be better than that?

Hi Patricia, after a decade of full-time freelance copywriting I can honestly say it’s still my favorite job of all time, well except for when I was a barista!
Copywriting, though fun is not always easy. Even if you have talent and very good skills. My suggestion is to keep your writing ability sharp. Read. Write. Learn. And if you want to make a living a copywriting, learn how to market your services!
All best and great abundance!

Hi Victoria,
Being in the financial profession, would be interested for work related to financial copywriting issues and others too for both the love of the Word, and making a living for the later part of life…
Let me know how and where to start…I feel I have them wriggling inside me to spill into dainty lines of spaghetti lapped up by the voracious hunger of Googlers!!!
Best,
Reuben Ray

Victoria,
Everything you say about copy writing is correct, but the only issue is getting a long term contract which pays. There isn’t much work available for freelance writers
Owais, you and I have talked briefly about the type of work you’re looking for…I have to disagree with you that there is not much work available. I think the issue lies more in the fact there there is a glut on the market of average copywriters, but not as many who are truly superior. When you work hard to become more adept at the craft, your chances of easily finding work becomes greater. I’ve been fortunate to develop a very loyal base of clients who not only send me regular work, but continually refer me. I can’t remember the last time I had to look for work. but it took me almost four years to get there. the point is, it can be done! Keep doing what you’re doing, providing excellence in all areas, and you too will enjoy the same opportunities to achieve whatever you set your mind to, and make a good living.
In April of ‘08 I predicted a few things about copywriters in the coming years.
* I predicted many beginning copywriters would drop out.
* I predicted average copywriters would drop their prices.
* And I predicted proven, reliable copywriters would raise their prices.
All of that’s sort of come true. One thing I didn’t mention was how many people would rush to try to become a copywriter… some of them make it, most don’t.
What makes the difference? You gotta put in the time studying and write like crazy. Eventually anyone can get good enough, just gotta put in the effort.
Cheers,
Stephen
Well said, Stephen!
